Look for Less: The Living Room
I ran across a great picture on Pinterest the other day. I think I might have fallen in love with the couch.
But the original one from Horchow is over $3,000 (approaching $4,000).
Out of the price range. Way, way out.
Then I saw this one on Joss and Main for a little over half the price. Eeek!
Total ringer, right? Don’t worry if they’re sold out. I’ve been stalking them for a while, and they seem to come back in stock every few days.
The pillow covers I found on Etsy are still a little pricey, around $70. You can probably find some at Home Goods for less, but I think these are really beauties. I love the stripe of emerald green running through the sides.
The rug in the picture is $2,799. Ouch.
I found two options that feel pretty similar to me from RugsUSA. They have tons of options.
Here are the links to the first and the second rugs. “But wait, Nicole!”, you say. “These are still almost $1000!” Well my friend, here is a 75% off coupon code: BOLD75. Some rugs are only 70% off, so their code is BOLD70. The website will tell you which code to use with the rug you pick. Nice, right? So that brings them down to the $300 range for a room filling rug. AND the shipping is free!
That amazing lucite coffee table with the brass detail is $1499. It was actually pretty difficult to find a match for this one. There are a lot of vintage tables out there that are very similar, but they’re still around $500.
1. Simple Acrylic Table, 2. Chrome and Glass Table, 3. Glass Table with Shelf
So I found an assortment that kind of had the feel of the one in the picture for around $200 or less.
Ok, so for the grand total. Their room is about $7,898 not including pillows or other accessories. And my room is about $2,290, which includes two of those great pillow covers.
I’m dying to know your money saving tips for trying to achieve a designer look for less!
ooox,
Nicole
